Bed feather cleaning

Shaking loosens the filling and creates new air spaces. This is the essential prerequisite for climate compensation. A down/feather product should be shaken daily.

Ventilation ensures that nighttime moisture is removed. In dry weather, down and feather beds are great, especially if you can lie on the balcony for one to two hours. In rain and fog they prefer to stay in bed.

We recommend a maximum of 2 hours. This means that a large part of the night moisture is released. Prolonged intensive exposure to sunlight deprives the down or feathers of their own moisture. It becomes brittle and inelastic. This also puts undue strain on the ticking. If you want to dry your bed on the heater in winter, you should make sure that the heating remains within body temperature.

Anyone who subjects down and feather beds to the torture of knockers and vacuum cleaners should not expect gratitude. Knockers and vacuum cleaners are instruments of torture for down and feather beds. They expand the fine ticking pores and loosen the fabric so that even individual down and feathers can emerge. The ticking is so smooth and dense that dust cannot get stuck. Light brushing from time to time is sufficient.
